Our employment and training programme, Southern Works, has helped yet another resident find work in his chosen industry.

Dylan Regan, one of our young residents in London, wanted to work in construction and through our Southern Works and Social Value programmes, he found out about an opportunity on his estate to get an apprenticeship with Durkan Ltd.

With Southern Works’ support and Dylan’s enthusiasm and determination, Durkan offered him a traineeship. The traineeship allowed Dylan to get experience working on a building site and spend one day a week in college to gain the qualification he needed to do an apprenticeship.

Dylan expects to begin his apprenticeship in September this year when he completes his traineeship.

Dylan’s site manager, Dennis, said:
“Dylan is as good as gold. He listens and picks up information very quickly and carries out his tasks well. He never shirks from his responsibilities, can be relied upon and is well liked by his team.”

Find out how we might be able to help you find a great new career or a fantastic training opportunity.
